What a fabulous start to my Tuesday! I LOVED having Room 8 down in the Art room today - and what astounding art was created! Room 8 learned all about scoring clay and then smudging the clay to join two pieces as one. Then they learned about having the right consistency of their clay - not too wet, not too dry - keeping it pliable. We checked the depth of our clay to make sure it was a thumb width in height to keep it strong, and we discussed putting our clay into a kiln which heats the clay to 1000 degrees to turn it into rock!

I am really looking forward to seeing the clay sea creatures when they come back from the kiln. Mrs Manuyag you are doing a great job tapping into the talent at Tamaki!
